Teams and Organizations
The mission of Livingstone High Performance is to provide pillars of support to individuals and organizations to elevate mental health and improve performance. I'm a certified instructor of Mental Health First Aid (sponsored by the National Council of Behavioral Health) as well as Mindful Sports Performance Enhancement, an evidence-based mental training program designed for athletes, coaches and other performers to provide specific guidance in building mindfulness skills.
As you also know painfully well, many of our kids (and peers) are suffering in silence; the impact permeating all areas of their lives, including how they show up on the field. And so often it's those who, on the outside, look like they’ve got it all together — even (especially) our high achievers who come from the most privileged homes.
I get it. As someone who spent my first two years of college battling my way through post-Olympic depression, suicidal ideation, injured athlete syndrome, shoulder surgery and an eating disorder, I'm able to infuse personal experience and current research into my presentations.
I dream of a world where we talk as openly about our mental health challenges as we do our physical health challenges -- one where Mental Health First Aid is as common as CPR.
I dream of a world where coaches and parents are equipped with the skills to become an empowered village -- one free from shame-driven coaching. Our coaches, who arguably spend more time with student-athletes than other adults in their lives, are finding themselves navigating uncharted territory without a whole lot of tools. I’m working to change that.
I've been fortunate enough to travel the country -- working with organizations (including USA Swimming and the College Swim Coaches Association of America), coaches, parents and athletes. I've also worked with colleges, high schools and club organizations to provide customized programming to help end the stigma around mental health and cultivate the skills, tools and supports needed to positively cope with struggle.
I’d love to connect to learn more about your team team or organization and to see how we might be able to work together.
